Wheelchair Accessible Private Tours from Beach Crossers
Wheelchair accessible private tours are not easily found in Mexico. Let’s get out and see Puerto Vallarta and all it has to offer.
We do not have tour guide licenses. We’re locals who know our way around and have a personal wheelchair accessible van. Unfortunately, we cannot take you inside of cultural sites such as the Our Lady of Guadalupe parish or the Naval Museum. Only a guide licensed with the state or national government can do that. We can, however, take you to these sites and wait while you explore inside independently. We can take you to our favorite places, drive you north or south around the bay, take you with a beach wheelchair to a beach club for the day, etc. What is it you’d like to do or see? If you have ideas, we can likely make them happen. If you have no idea, we can give you some great options.
Some of the crazy things we’ve done.
We’ve taken people geocaching, hunting Pokemon, looking at real estate, trying tacos and surfing in Sayulita. Also, gone by panga to Las Animas for a cup of tea. We survived tequila tasting at several distilleries in the same day. We’ve taken people as our guests to our private beach club. Our craziest tour was for two wonderful women who only spoke German. What a fun day we had while trying to communicate and share the Malecon.
Designed with you in mind.
Not surprisingly, all of our wheelchair accessible private tours are custom itineraries. Let us know what you are interested in, how long you want to be out, and any special needs, and we will design an itinerary just for your group. We can take one or two people in wheelchairs and one or two additional guests.
Some popular tours
South of Vallarta Jungle typical itinerary 5-7 hours
Pick-up at your Puerto Vallarta location. We typically visit the downtown area, Malecón, and pass through Conchas Chinas as a driving tour. However, if you want to spend a little more time we can stop for a while. After that, we stop at Los Arcos roadside tiendas for a little shopping and a beautiful photo opportunity. Later, we head to our southern destination of Boca de Tomatlan. Additional sightseeing through Mismaloya and an artisan tequila distillery round out the tour. Above all, this is your tour. We can add stops, eliminate destinations, or mix it up a little. In other words, it’s 100% customizable.
Malecon shopping and Artisan goods 4 hours
A flexible wheelchair accessible private tour to the Malecón and Romantic Zone. First, at the north end of the Malecón, shopping, and sightseeing to the Romantic Zone. Return to your location. Add a lunch stop and an additional hour.
Thursday night market 3+ hours
We will start at your wheelchair accessible private tour at your Puerto Vallarta location at 5:30 PM. Along the route to Marina Vallarta, we will point out sites of interest. Most importantly, we will spend two hours in the market. During this time, we will see the local artists as they work, sample the variety of food choices, and enjoy some local entertainers. Finally, around 8:00 we will head back to your Puerto Vallarta location. If you’d like, we can pick you up earlier and take a driving tour before heading to the Marina Market.
Tuesday morning market 3+ hours
Visit the Tuesday morning market in Nuevo Vallarta. We will pick you up at your Puerto Vallarta location and travel to Nuevo Vallarta. Happily, this market is very accessible. Similarly to the Thursday market, a variety of artisan foods, crafts, jewelry, and music fill the area behind San Javier Hospital. We will pick you up at 9:00 a.m., spend 2 hours at the market and return to your location as early as noon. Alternatively, we can add another stop and maybe some lunch and make a longer outing.
Botanical Gardens 7 hours
We will meet at your Puerto Vallarta location and travel south through town on this wheelchair accessible private tour to the Botanical Gardens. Our first stop is at Los Arcos marine preserve and roadside tiendas. After that, we will continue south to the Vallarta botanical gardens. In addition to the driving tour, we will spend approximately 4 hours at the gardens. This includes an hour for lunch and 3 hours exploring the building and trails of the gardens. Alternately, we could stop for lunch along the way back to Vallarta. We have a few favorite places. After that, we will head back north to visit the quaint town of Mismaloya and the artisan tequila distillery. Then, back to your Puerto Vallarta location.
Generally speaking, the hourly rate includes transportation and our services as your personal guides. Meals, beverages, souvenirs, and other personal items are not included.
