Knee Scooter
A knee scooter, knee rover, knee walker or knee rider is an alternative to crutches. If you are going to be on level surfaces you can save a lot of effort by choosing this type of scooter over crutches. If you will be staying somewhere with stairs or uneven surfaces, the scooter will not make things easier. Our scooter has a right side hand brake and 4 wheels for better stability. If keeping your balance is a concern, then a manual transport wheelchair, or a manual wheelchair is a nice option. We also have some wheelchairs with bicycle tires. They are a better choice if you are going to have any cobblestone or grassy areas to cross.
This product is best for people with ankle or foot injuries. You have to be able to rest your weight on your shin to use the knee scooter. Like any mobility device, there are plenty of places where you cannot use a scooter. Want to go to the beach? We have products to get you there, but a knee scooter is not one of them. Check out the beach wheelchair as a better choice. You can use crutches to go down a few stairs or a curb, but the knee scooter will not work in those situations. A knee scooter is not ideal for grass, gravel, or wet surfaces.
If the conditions are right, this scooter is a great choice and allows more mobility than crutches, but it isn’t right for all locations. You have to look at your location to see if this product will work for you.
